Bahasa Indonesia Day

Bahasa Indonesia Day was an exciting event at Sampoerna Academy L’Avenue. The event was prepared by Ms Delia Kusuma, Ms Erny T., and Mr Edy Nugraha, with help from other teachers and staff who led and judged different activities.

There were many fun competitions, like storytelling, poster-making, and fable writing. Students also got to enjoy workshops and performances. The main event occurred on Thursday, October 31, 2024, in the Multi-Purpose Hall, while the competitions took place earlier in the week.

The event included a prize ceremony and the announcement of literacy ambassadors for the Primary and Secondary units—a special first for our school this year. The literacy ambassadors at school will promote a love for reading and writing among students. They will lead initiatives like organizing book clubs, encouraging storytelling, and hosting literacy events. Additionally, they will act as role models, inspiring their peers to improve their language skills and appreciate literature, fostering a culture of literacy across the school community.

This event is important because it helps students celebrate and appreciate the beauty of Bahasa Indonesia and Indonesian culture. By participating, students improved their literacy and learned the value of keeping their traditions alive. Everyone left with new memories and a stronger connection to Indonesia’s rich language and culture.
