On 31 August, Sampoerna Academy L’Avenue hosted its much-anticipated annual Sports Day at PSF Persada Field in Halim. This exciting event brought students, parents, and staff together to celebrate athleticism, teamwork, and school spirit.
The day started with a parade as students proudly marched with their respective houses—Water, Air, Fire, and Earth. The sunny skies and perfect weather set the stage for a memorable day. ELC and primary students started the day with a series of fun and challenging rotation games. Each house competed in activities such as hurdles, penalty shoot-outs, a 400-meter marathon, rob the nest, standing long jump, and rocket throw.
For secondary students, the games ramped up with Dodgeball, Tug-of-War, Volleyball, Handball, and Football. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the football match. Houses battled it out on the pitch. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, cheering wildly for every goal, making it a thrilling spectacle for everyone.
One of the standout aspects of Sports Day was the sense of community it fostered. Parents cheered enthusiastically from the stands, teachers encouraged students, and the spirit of camaraderie was unmistakable. The event reinforced the bonds that make our school community so special. As the morning concluded, everyone gathered at the centre of the pitch to hear the much-anticipated results. This year’s champion was House Water, whose members celebrated their victory with cheers. A big well done to Houses Fire, Earth, and Air for their remarkable efforts and sportsmanship.
This year’s Sports Day wasn’t just about competition; it was a celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and joy. We extend our gratitude to the teachers, parents, and students who made this day possible, especially the Student Council members whose hard work ensured the event’s success. Thank you for making Sports Day 2024 an unforgettable experience for all. Until next year!
