Sampoerna Academy Engages in ANBK 2024

ANBK (Asesmen Nasional Berbasis Komputer) - the Computer-Based National Assessment - comes as an initiative from the Indonesian Government to reform Indonesian education. There are three components of the assessment, which are student assessments (divided into two main areas: literacy and numeracy), school environment assessments, and educational data assessments.

This is the third year that Sampoerna Academy students from selected Grade 5 classes joined the assessment to evaluate their understanding of literacy and numeracy as well as to analyze their awareness of the school environment. There were 35 students involved in the assessment, which was conducted on 30th and 31st October 2024 in the school computer lab. Before the assessment, a series of preparations had been completed during class time. They were divided into four smaller groups to make the preparation more effective, assisted by four appointed teachers.

What makes this assessment unique is the test methodology, which requires students’ critical thinking as well as problem-solving skills, since there is no memorization required in the test. Apart from that, students’ awareness of their school environment is also something that makes this assessment different from other tests.

In conclusion, ANBK is expected to be one of the ways to improve Indonesia’s education system by focusing on quality over quantity and preparing students for real-world challenges.
